NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard ($35) is a pricey little number for must student budget (I spend less than $35 a week on groceries). But after reading 1203912381023 positive reviews on the stuff, I decided to dish out the cash because my under eyes deserve nothing but luxury.

NARS says that its Creamy Radiant concealer is ideal for all skin types and instantly obscures imperfections, blurs lines and wrinkles and hides dark circles. It's also meant to be hydrating for medium-to-full coverage with a natural luminous finish.

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard is a yellow tone suited for light to medium complexions. I was flip flopping between Honey and Custard, as Honey is slightly peachier (and presumably better suited for cancelling out the blue tone of under eye circles). I ended up choosing Custard because I wanted something that I could use to conceal both under eye circles and blemishes. While NARS's Custard is deeper in tone and thicker than MUFE's Ultra HD Concealer in Y23, it still blends out to look untraceable on the skin.

For my currently paler-than-usual complexion, Custard is good for my under eyes but too deep for the rest of my face. It'll be perfect in the summer.

Can you tell the difference?

In terms of performance, it looks amazing when blended out - high coverage yet still skin-like. As advertised, it's a very hydrating concealer. This means it's bound to slip around unless you set it. The only problem with setting the concealer is that it ruins the initial finish of the radiant creamy concealer and ends up making my under eyes look sad and dry. At least setting it makes it last all day. What a dilemma.

Overall, it's a great concealer with a gorgeous natural finish. But there's a lot of buts. I tend not to wear it unless I'll only be out for a couple hours or I'm not wearing glasses, which kind of limits the number of times I can wear it. Perhaps it just works better for everyone else. All in all, it's love hate with this one and I have yet to determine if I'll be making a repurchase after it's done.

Have you tried the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer?
