It's #LOVEWEEK on the blog. Not to celebrate the fact that Sunday is Valentine's Day but to acknowledge the fact that all things cute, pink, sparkly and/or heart shaped are necessary in life. Because you can be amazing and independent and happy with or without a significant other, and cute beauty things can oftentimes enhance whatever situation you might be in. To kick it off, it's a product that I've fallen in love with...

Everything about the Too Faced Love Flush Long Lasting 16-Hour Blushes ($32) is pretty freaking great. I just can't get over these blushes:
  • Love is the name of the game.
  • Each blush is named after a love song.
  • The packaging is in the shape of a heart.
  • There are little love bunnies etched onto the powder.
  • The staying power is kind of like how most would dream of how love should be, long-lasting (if not eternal).

When you set eyes on the packaging of the Too Faced Love Flush Blushes, it will be love at first sight... Each blush has a magnetic closure and a mirror inside, and the colours of the containers correspond to the blushes within. While the heart shape might not be the easiest to store, it's so darn cute that ease of storage is an issue that can be ignored. If you're not into cute packaging, I don't like you it'll probably be harder for you to fall in love with this blush.

There are 6 shades in the range, 4 of which I've shared in this post. The shades not shown in this post are Love Hangover (warm pink) and Your Love is King (rosy plum). Included in this post are Baby Love, Justify My Love, I Will Always Love You and How Deep Is Your Love?

Baby Love (dusty nude with fine gold sparkle)

Justify My Love (bright pink with fine gold sparkle)

I Will Always Love You (gilded peach)

How Deep is Your Love? (watermelon pink)

To ask me to choose a favourite between the four shades would be a travesty. They're all equally wonderful in their own right. Baby Love is a nude that goes with everything, Justify My Love is a bright pink that livens up the face and I Will Always Love You is a peach that has a similar effect Finally, How Deep is Your Love is perfect bright watermelon for days when I want blush to be the focal point of my face. Both Baby Love and Justify My Love have a fine golden sparkle which is almost undetectable on the skin. Okay. So I've decided. Since it's colder outside and I'm much paler than usual, I'm digging the lighter, more "neutral" shades Baby Love and I Will Always Love You the most.

I'm typically quite skeptical of long-wearing makeup claims. My skin is oily and with face products in particular, my hair and long side-swept bangs usually rub off blush before midday. Luckily, the "16-hour blush" is pretty true to its name. It's the most long-wearing blush I've come across in my makeup escapades.

In addition to the impressive longevity, the colour payoff is mighty strong across the board, the texture of the blush is consistently baby's bottom soft and finely milled with no powder kick-up in sight.

It's love.
