Amore Pacific says that the Mise En Scene Perfect Repair ($18.99 CAD at Echoo.ca) is "not just your ordinary hair serum". I beg to differ.

The Amore Pacific Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Hair Serum contains a serious blend of oils including argan oil, marula oil, jojoba oil, olive oil and camellia oil plus rose water and royal jelly - all well known for their moisturizing, smoothing and strengthening properties.

The product has multiple claims including:
  • Increased strength of hair
  • Increased glow and shine
  • Improved gloss
  • Enhanced elasticity
  • Smoothed frizziness
  • Detangling
  • Damage care
  • Results in 7 days

The hair serum is conveniently packaged in a plastic bottle with a pump. I have very long hair (almost to my bum), so two dime-sized pumps is sufficient for my needs. If you have shorter hair, I'd suggest sticking with a single pump of product. The texture is like a very thin oil with a very slight stickiness that diminishes when rubbed into the ends of the hair.

Mise En Scene recommends that you apply the product to damp hair. I tried it out on both dry hair and damp hair. Applying it to dry hair (which is obviously not recommended) left my hair an oily mess. On the other hand, the results from applying the Mise En Scene Perfect Repair serum to damp hair were stellar. Something about damp hair helps the product to absorb much, much better.

I've been using the serum every two or three days (whenever I wash my hair) from the nape of my neck to the ends of my hair. The results have been great. I find the ends of my hair to be less tangled, more smooth and less frizzy than it is when I don't use the serum. My hair gets slightly oilier than usual faster but that might be attributed to the almost unbearably humid whether that we've been experiencing in Southern Ontario.

Korean beauty products are quite different from North American ones but I feel like this hair serum is very similar to something that I could find at Shoppers Drug Mart. Even so, it's a really good hair serum at a reasonable price.

Have you tried any Korean haircare products?
