In celebration of #LOVEWEEK, I've been testing out an all pink haircare line. The Kerastase Cristalliste Shampoo Line is all pink everything. Kerastase says that the range is enriched with a "Liquid Light Complex", to gently untangle hair, cleanse roots and make lengths glitter like crystals in the light.
STEP 1: Kerastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Shampoo ($42). For free-flowing, lightweight hair.
STEP 2A: Kerastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Conditioner ($47) . For free-flowing, silky hair.
STEP 2B: Kerastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Mask ($64). For nourished, free-flowing hair.
STEP 3: Kerastase Cristalliste Dual Sculpting Serum ($44). For luminous, free-flowing, manageable hair.
There are four products in the range with two that are interchangeable depending on your hair type. For Step 2, fine haired gals should go for the Luminous Perfecting Conditioner, while thick haired gals should go for the Luminous Perfecting Mask. For review purposes, I've been trying both interchangeably!
The Kerastase Cristalliste Luminouse Perfecting Shampoo was pretty standard, as far as luxury haircare goes. The lather is soft and smooth and the shampoo does some slight detangling work.
Despite having quite thick hair, I found that the Kerastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Mask was a bit heavy for my hair. It's a gummy texture that does a great job at detangling but I find post-rinse that my hair sits flatter than I'd like. I prefer the Kerastase Cristalliste Luminous Perfecting Conditioner for a majority of my showers. It's much thinner in texture compared to the Mask and doesn't do the same job at detangling but I found my hair to still be manageable and soft-feeling.
The icing on top is the Kerastase Cristallite Cristal Sculpt Double Serum to the shampoo and conditioners. Oftentimes serums weigh down my hair and make it look over moisturized (aka oily). The double serum doesn't. If you look carefully inside the bottle, you can see two columns, a dark pink and a light pink. Upon squeezing the product out of the tube, you get a pink gel and a clear gel mixed together, rather than an oily feeling serum. It does the extra detangling that the conditioner might miss and makes my hair feel silky smooth. It's likely the most effective and lightweight hair serum I've ever used!
While I was testing the Kerastase Cristalliste haircare products, I found that they all had a light, clean, floral-fruity aroma that translates into a soft, feminine scent on my hair and makes me feel like a million bucks. From time to time, I'll stop and think "what's that beautiful scent?" ... and then I'll recall that it's simply the Kerastase products in my hair.
Overall, the Kerastase Cristalliste line is keeping my hair looking clean and shiny and moisturized even in the winter. Oh... and bonus... it's pink!
