Scarlet & Julia is the latest online destination for beauty shopping. It's got two pieces...
(1) La Boutique - which contains a wide range of mid-range to prestige beauty brands; and
(2) Beauty Outlet - which includes sales of up to 80% on the site's brands updated weekly.
I received a complimentary $50 gift card from Scarlet and Julia to try out their service. So, I perused the site for beauty goodies. The site was easy to navigate, as it has tons of filter options (product type, colour, skin type, brand, price, etc). The only thing I couldn't seem to find is a section for reviews, which I ended up looking for elsewhere.
A few of the brands that tickled my fancy:
I placed my order on November 3rd but it wasn't shipped until a few weeks later on November 20th and I received my order on November 22nd. While three weeks is quite substantial amount of time for something that is shipped within the same province, I expect that this was the case because Lipstick Queen was new to Scarlet & Julia at the time I had ordered.
When the package came in a black box with black crinkle paper, my two lipsticks were neatly packed inside along with three samples and a $10 off $50 coupon code for my next purchase.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the service provided by Scarlet & Julia. Niche brands, a charitable giving, and a beauty outlet are some of the highs while their slow shipping (hopefully a one-time ordeal) was a bit of a wait. Needless to say, I will be shopping from Scarlet & Julia for beauty more in the near future.
