Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Lipsticks in Rebel Rose, Pink Really Hard and Video Vixen

The most affordable liquid lipstick yet. Oh and they're vegan, fragrance free, gluten free and cruelty free too. The Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Lipsticks ($6.99 CAD) are now available in Canada at select food, drug and mass retailers, wetnwildbeauty.com and well.ca.

Wet N Wild says their new liquid lipsticks are weightless, glide on like a gloss and dry down to an ultra-matte finish that hugs every contour, provides intense pigmentation without drying the lips and contains macadamia derivative to provide moisture and Vitamin E to improve the appearance of texture.

Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Lipsticks in 923B Pink Really Hard, 924B Rebel Rose and 931B Video Vixen Swatches

There are 13 shades of the Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Lipsticks available: 920B Nudie Patootie, 921B Nudist Peach, 922B Coral Corruption, 923B Pink Really Hard, 924B Rebel Rose, 925B Give Me Mocha, 926B Berry Recognize, 927B Nice to Fuchsia, 928B Oh My Dolly, 929B Flame of the Game, 930B Missy and Fierce, 931B Video Vixen, 932B Goth Topic.

On application, the Catsuit Liquid Lipsticks are smooth and glide over the lips fairly evenly. The lighter shades are opaque in one coat while, the darker Video Vixen requires a couple layers. The wear time is very impressive. It's 100% kiss-proof and if you're not eating anything too greasy, the liquid lipstick will last until you take it off. It doesn't feel particularly comfortable but it looks just fine.

Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipstick in 923B Pink Really Hard

The Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Lipstick in 923B Pink Really Hard is a pale petal pink. It's not my colour but it does apply with intense pigmentation (one swipe), as promised.

Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipstick in 924B Rebel Rose Swatch

The Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Lipstick in 924 Rebel Rose is a cool rose. This is a very trendy neutral tone and I predict that it will be a very popular one among most light/medium skin tones. Again, it applies evenly and in one swipe over the lips.

Wet N Wild Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipstick in 931B Video Vixen Swatch

The Wet N Wild Catsuit Lipstick in 931B Video Vixen is a red wine. It's gorgeously vampy but as expected with deeper shades of liquid lipstick, this one is patchy and requires two layers for full opacity.

All in all, if you don't like liquid lipsticks because they feel uncomfortable, these probably aren't for you. That being said, if you're a lover of liquid lipsticks then definitely seek these out the next time you're at the drugstore because they are (1) long lasting and (2) beyond affordable.

If you've made it to the bottom of this post - congrats. Get FREE shipping on orders over $40 to Canada until February 15th with the code CANADA at wetnwildbeauty.com (non-affiliate).

Have you spotted the Wet N Wild Catsuit Lipsticks at your local drugstore yet?

Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection Nail Lacquers | Spring 2017

Funny story - it rained and then froze over today and I basically slid home from work. The end. So, I'm not feeling as though I'm in the brightest of Springtime moods. Spring has not yet sprung in real life but apparently in the world of beauty it has. New from Mary Kay is their Light, Reinvented Collection, which features bright, fresh colours for Spring and Summer.

Mary Kay's seasonal collections typically feature a myriad of pretty polishes. This season, they've released four new Nail Lacquers - Brilliant Violet, Luminous Mauve, Vivid Sunburst and New Blue ($10 each).

I've reviewed a number of Mary Kay Nail Lacquers in the past and they're consistently great. Most shades are opaque in 2 coats or less. The polish is fairly thin and quick drying. And paired with a solid top coat they can last for 4-5 days on my finicky nails.

The Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in Brilliant Violet is a medium warm fuchsia purple.

The Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in Luminous Mauve is a pastel lilac with a slight warmth - my favourite from this particular collection.

The Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in New Blue is a pastel turquoise.

The Mary Kay Nail Lacquer in Vivid Sunburst is a warm orange.

All together, the Light, Reinvented Mary Kay Nail Lacquers for Spring 2017 scream warm weather, sunshine and flowers. I love the colours but I hate that it isn't Spring yet. Such a tease.

What do you think of Mary Kay's Light, Reinvented polishes?

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation in 366C Buff Bisque

Let me start by saying that this is my FAVOURITE drugstore foundation of the moment. Here's why...

The Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation ($7.99 CAD) promises flashback-free and flawless photographs in all lighting conditions. And the brand has got some research to back it up. The foundation was tested with 700 selfies in 7 different lighting conditions - clear blue skies, outdoors PM, indoors PM, electronic flash, fluorescent light, bathroom light and night club light. I tested the foundation in different sorts of lighting and the product is true to the claims made by the brand.

Sidenote: if there's one thing to dislike about the product... it's the applicator/bottle. What in the world is this paddle applicator? It's not very hygienic or convenient. Pumps > Paddles, all day every day. I typically apply the foundation onto the back of my hand, then go in with a beauty blender or brush to prevent contaminating the product in the bottle.

There are 20 shades of the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation, 13 available everywhere where Wet N Wild is sold and 7 exclusively available on the Wet N Wild Beauty Website. Available everywhere are 360C Porcelain, 361C Shell Ivory, 362C Soft Ivory, 363C Nude Ivory, 364C Rose Ivory, 365C Soft Beige, 366C Buff Bisque, 367C Peach Natural, 368C Golden Beige, 369C Cream Beige, 370C Bronze Beige, 371C Classic Beige and 372C Desert Beige. The shades 373C Amber Beige, 374C Caramel, 375C Toffee, 376 Cocoa, 377 Mocha, 378C Espresso and 379C Mahogany are available exclusively on the Wet N Wild website.

The range is impressive for the drugstore. My winter shade is 366C Buff Beige which is a perfect match for my current winter colouring.

This particular foundation is very thin and watery. To the touch, it reminds me of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation as it feels a bit oily, but the Photo Focus is actually oil-free. The foundation is like second-skin. It glides over the face evenly, hiding dryness and imperfections yet without looking heavy. On application, it feels like I'm blending nothing but water onto my face. In terms of coverage, it's medium and I find that my dark circles and raised zits/bumps require a heavy duty concealer. The finish is very natural (not too matte or too glowy).

When set with a small amount of powder, the foundation lasts around 8-9 hours. It doesn't break down on my nose or shift around on my chin, so my skin's textural issues stay concealed.

All in all, I think the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation is the bomb dot com. The formulation melds well with my skin. Furthermore, the shade range is pretty darn fantastic and it's selfie-approved. Drugstore foundations these days are in the $15 to $20 range. If I was in my teenage years, my allowance would not be able to cover that. Thankfully, the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation is only $7.99.

In addition to the Photo Focus Foundation, the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Collection also features a Photo Focus Concealer available in 6 shades and a Photo Focus Pressed Powder available in 8 shades. I have yet to get my hands on the correct shades of either but I will update you if and when I do.

Have you tried the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation yet?

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Serum & Moisturizer

Early this year, Clarins released four products infused with organic Leaf of Life extract. The Leaf of Life is a kalanchoe succulent native to Madagascar that holds water in conditions of drought and environmental stress. The leaf of life is also known for its medicinal properties to treat shortness of breath, kidney failure, menstrual cramps, bronchitis and asthma.

In skincare application, Clarins says that the leaf of life activates self-hydration of the skin. The Hydra-Essentiel range includes 3 moisturizers for 3 skin types - the Silky Cream (normal to dry skin), Cooling Gel (oily/combo skin) and Very Rich Cream (very dry skin) - and 1 serum - the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum. All four products are meant to protect the skin against environmental stressors like pollution, sweat, dry air, humid air, sudden changes in temperature, etc.

I've ben trying two products from the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Line  - the Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum ($56 CAD) and the Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream for Normal to Dry Skin ($46 CAD).

The Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum is a lightweight and refreshing, water-like serum that penetrates deeply into the skin and aids any products on top in sinking in more effectively. I like the serum because it's an easy step. When I apply it to my face, my skin absorbs it immediately. There's no trace of residue but my skin feels soft and slightly hydrated.

Similar to the serum, the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream is a lightweight product with ultra-hydrating properties. It reminds me of the MUJI Moisturizing Cream but the Clarins moisturizer has a lighter texture with the same level of hydration and is lightly scented. The Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream sinks into the skin fairly quickly as well, so fast that I can even wear it underneath makeup.

Together, both products are a dynamic duo. Since adding the Hydra-Essentiel Serum and Silky Cream into my daily skincare routine, I've found that any dry areas around the sides of my face, chin and forehead have dissipated. (That being said, I do suspect the combination might be a little too much moisture for my skin during the warmer, more humid months.) Moreover, the duo is the perfect amount of hydration for both day or overnight wear. In the mornings, I apply both products and wait a couple minutes before putting foundation over top. I've had no issues with my makeup pilling or balling whilst wearing the duo underneath. Further, the creams don't make my skin any more/less oily at the end of the day.

All in all, two thumbs up for this serum and moisturizer combo from Clarins...particularly in the winter time when my typically oily skin is feeling a little parched.

Have you heard of the leaf of life? Have you tried Clarins' new Hydra-Essentiel range?

Think Dirty Limited Edition Valentine's Curated Beauty Box

Valentine's Day might be over, but you can still Think Dirty ;)

What is Think Dirty? Think Dirty is an app that helps consumers to make clean beauty choices. The main functionality of the app is a barcode scanner and product database. The database includes over 600,000 products, each rated on a scale from 1 to 10 based on the carcinogenity, developmental and reproductive toxicity, allergenicity and immunotoxicity of the ingredients (0 being clean, 10 being high toxicity). If a product is rated 10, the app recommends products with better ratings.

The Think Dirty Curated Beauty Box ($95 USD) is a partnership with rated clean 0-3 beauty companies. The box includes 8 hand-picked products and is said to have a $180+ USD value. Beauty boxes are always a point of excitement for me, and clean beauty alternatives interest me (though I can say that most of my collection would probably be have a "bad" rating).

About week ago, I received a picked up a box from Think Dirty HQ for the purposes of doing a review. Here's what was inside:

WHAT EXCITED ME:

  • FitGlow Beauty Good Gloss in Cherry ($24) - The FitGlow Beauty Good Gloss has the scent of a MAC lip gloss but feels less sticky. It's a medium opacity gloss with a good amount of shine. Cherry is a neutral berry shade, perfect for everyday wear.
  • Moondani Natural Breath Mist x 2 ($12.99) - I don't typically chew gum because the waste is not great for the environment. The Moondani Natural Breath Mist is a great sugar-free alternative!
  • nyl Skincare Bath Soak Trio ($24) - Bath products get me every time. This trio includes a shimmer soak, salt soak and coconut jasmine bath soak. All three smell delightful and are packaged beautifully.
  • Lymph Candy Deodorant in Lavender ($3, not pictured) - Most of the natural deodorants that I've tried come in a pot form, which is annoying to use because it gets stuck underneath my nails. The Lymph Candy Deodorant is in stick form - handy!

WHAT I'M COOL WITH:
  • Nature Bare Body Care For Harsh Hands Hydrating Hand Butter ($5.50) - A whipped texture, shea butter-based hand cream. It's a tad greasy for me but very hydrating for my hands. It doesn't excite me but my hands are always in need of a little moisture, especially during the winter.
  • Radha Organics Anti-Aging Younger Face Cream ($13.25) - I use face cream daily, so another one doesn't hurt. As a plus, it's 100% vegan and all natural.

WHAT DID NOT EXCITE ME:
  • St. Tropica Hair Mask ($15 for 3) - While the hot-oil treatment is an interesting concept, I'm not a fan of 3 of the same product in one box. What if I don't like it? I'll probably just give it to a friend. I like variety in my boxes.
  • Elixir Apothecary Pink Himalayan Sea Salt Scrub (1 oz. sample valued at $1.87) - Same gripe as above, three of the same thing and sample sized. I know I didn't pay for this box but $95 is not inexpensive.
  • Antonia Naturals Mango Butter Lip Balm ($3.50) - I am into the mango scent but I have about 6 opened lip balms on the go. It's not a bad product, it just doesn't cater to my needs.

TOTAL VALUE: $103 USD. The $180+ USD value claim made on Think Dirty's website is a bit overstated but you get what you pay for here, not much more or less. (Get $5 off with the code IZE5OFF)

Overall, I think that the Think Dirty Limited Edition Valentine's Curated Beauty Box is a good buy. The value isn't amazing but it is nice to see a company that looks educates consumers while providing clean alternatives to everyday beauty products.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Powder in #15 and Liquid in #4

Glitter. Shine. Shimmer. I want it all and MAKE UP FOR EVER is serving it all up with their new Star Lit Powder ($25 CAD) and Star Lit Liquid ($30 CAD).

Make Up For Ever Star Lit Powder in 15 Golden Pink, Star Lit Liquid in 04 Golden Peach Swatches

What is the difference between the Star Lit Liquid and the Star Lit Powder? The powder is more of a "shimmer"/pigment appearing smoother on the lid while the liquid is better described as a "glitter". Swatch-wise, they're both stunning. You don't need both, but you can definitely have both in your life without feeling like a hoarder because they're different products and achieve different looks.

Golden Pink and Golden Peach are very similar in tone, though the Star Lit Powder in Golden Pink has a light copper base, whereas the glitter in the Star Lit Liquid is suspended in a clear base.

Make Up For Ever Star Lit Powder in 15 Golden Pink Swatch

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Powder is an ultra-fine loose powder pigment that can be used for highlighting the lips, eyes and cheeks. The powders contain mother of pearl, which provides the product's light-catching properties. The powders can be applied wet or dry, though I prefer wet for minimum fallout and maximum intensity. I would recommend applying a glitter base or sticky primer and using a flat brush to further avoid fallout.

The Star Lit Powder is available in 8 shades - 2 Frozen Gold, 5 Frozen Purple, 12 Copper, 13 Ivory, 15 Golden Pink, 19 Ultramarine, 27 Gunmetal and 28 Black Anthracite.

Make Up For Ever Star Lit Liquid in 04 Golden Peach Swatch

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Liquid can be used for the eyes and face. It is contained in a small bottle and includes a nail-polish like brush. On application, the product stings my eyelid slightly (probably not a great sign but after it dries down the tingling goes away). When applied sparingly, the liquid dries down quickly but when applied with a heavier hand it needs a bit more drying time. I find that when I apply too much product, the Star Lit Liquid can get a little patchy and/or creasy. So, instead of using the included brush, I swipe the stuff onto the back of my hand and dab the glitter onto my eyelid with fingertips. The end result is as bright as a full moon on a clear night but it definitely takes some work.

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Liquid is available in 5 shades - 1 Arctic White, 2 Pink Beige, 3 Gold Champagne, 4 Golden Peach, 5 Silver Dust

Wearing the MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Liquid in #4 Golden Peach with the NYX Lid Lacquer over top

All in all, MAKE UP FOR EVER kills it again. I definitely prefer the Star Lit Powder over the Star Lit Liquid for ease of application but both are deliciously shimmery, glittery and sparkly.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Caviar + Makeup Look

Easy. Black. Lipstick. I didn't think that I'd see those three words together... but the time has come. The MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Caviar ($21 CAD) is a pure black liquid lipstick shade. The emo teenage me is jumping for joy. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea but this particular lipstick shade has the mystical, magical ability to make anyone look like the biggest badass on earth.

I say that the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Caviar is easybecause it has all of the very paramount qualities of an excellent liquid lipstick. Firstly, the pointed doe-foot applicator is precise enough that you can achieve a relatively crisp lip line. Optionally, you could use a lip brush but who has time for that? Secondly, the formulation is very opaque. One swipe more or less is all that's needed - lip liner optional. Thirdly, the liquid lipstick glides smoothly onto the lips and dries down in no time at all. Also, after dry down, the lipstick is completely transfer-proof and kiss-proof (unless, of course, you're eating French fries for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Lastly, it's not the least comfortable liquid lipstick that I've worn. No, it doesn't moisturize my lips, but it doesn't dry them out either.

All in all, the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Caviar is the queen of black lipsticks because all others (or at least the one's that I've tried) pale in comparison. While I don't think I'll be wearing it daily, the colour is unique and the formulation works well for me.

Quo Cosmetics 2017 New in Beauty

Quo Cosmetics, Shoppers Drug Mart's in-house beauty brand just launched 9 new products for 2017. I've put them all to the test, so let's dive right in!

Quo Cosmetics Beauty Launches 2017

Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette and Matte Revolution Foundation

Quo Cosmetics Matte Revolution Foundation in Shade 02 Before and After

The Quo Cosmetics Matte Revolution Foundation($24 CAD) is a full coverage foundation + concealer. It's a misnomer because the finish isn't entirely matte. It's more of a satin (Quo describes it as a "luminous matte" but tbh that's an oxymoron). Coverage is indeed very high - comparable to the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation. There are 5 shades available. I tried #02 and because it's a tad too yellow and too light for my skin, the high coverage appears slightly mask-like on my face. Staying power is good but not great. On application, the my face looks very flawless and fresh. The foundation gets a little oily around my nose after 4 hours and transfers around my glasses very easily. Overall, it's okay but not something that I would pick up again.

Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette Swatches

Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette Before and After

The Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette ($19 CAD) features medium coverage and 4 shades. It's lightweight enough that I can get away with wearing the concealer in the undereye area and over blemishes. It's a tad sticky so needs to be set. There's only one palette and the shades are most suitable for those with neutral to warm, light to medium complexions.

Quo Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray and Nourish & Prime Hydrating Primer

The Quo Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray ($19 CAD) is a fine mist that leaves a matte (but not flat) finish. I'm not too picky about setting sprays and I find that this one works for me, keeping makeup in place for 10+ hours if worn with a long-wearing foundation.

The Quo Cosmetics Nourish & Prime Hydrating Primer ($24 CAD) is slightly hydrating, like a light moisturizer. The product absorbs instantly and my skin feels softer after applying, however this primer doesn't do anything for the longevity of my makeup.

Quo Cosmetics Matte Bronzer in Light Tan and Medium Tan, Quo Bronzer Duo in South Beach and Golden Glow, Radial Blur Translucent Powder

Quo Cosmetics Blush Duo in Just Blush

I have so lovingly named the Quo Blush Duo ($16 CAD) as "the nipple blush". The setup is very reminiscent of Charlotte Tilbury's Swish and Pop blushers. The blush is a little hard (read: the nipple blush is a little hard... hehehe) and requires a few heavy-handed swirls for the product to transfer onto the brush. The colour is a sheer neutral pink and is very difficult to get wrong. If you like subtle blushers, this one is for you.

Quo Cosmetics Blush Duo in Just Blush, Bronzer in Light Tan and Medium Tan, Bronzer Duo in South Beach and Golden Glow, Radial Blur Translucent Powder

The Quo Cosmetics Matte Bronzers ($19 CAD) are available in two shades - Light Tan and Medium Tan. They are very smooth, easy to blend and as promised, are completely matte. Oddly, Light Tan is warmer than Medium Tan but both have about the same depth of colour. For my complexion, Medium Tan is the ideal neutral crease colour and contour shade.

The Quo Cosmetics Bronzer Duos ($19 CAD) also feature matte bronzers with the addition of a slightly shimmery centre shade. Both South Beach (bronzer/pink) and Golden Glow (bronzer/yellow-gold) are both quite warm and great for actual bronzing rather than contouring.

The Quo Cosmetics Radical Blur Translucent Powder ($18 CAD) was a no-no for me. It is mattifying and minimizes pores but does not control oil and adds a slight white cast to the skin.

Quo Cosmetics Matte Bronzer in Medium Tan on the face and eyes

Quo Cosmetics Lip Velour Swatches in Bombshell and Vixen

Quo Cosmetics Lip Velour in Bombshell Swatch

Quo Cosmetics Lip Velour in Vixen Swatch

The Quo Cosmetics Lip Velours ($14 CAD) are a liquid lipstick with a brush applicator available in 6 shades. Bombshell is a light pink (not for me) and Vixen is a vampy berry pink. I found Bombshell to apply evenly but Vixen was slightly patchy and required 2 coats for application. The Quo Lip Velours are comfortable but not particularly long wearing on my lips.

Quo Cosmetics Makeup Look

 Quo Cosmetics Makeup Look

All in all, new Quo products are always exciting, especially when they're fairly affordable and very accessible (there's a Shoppers Drug Mart at just about every major intersection in Scarborough and downtown Toronto). My top picks are the bronzers and the makeup setting spray.

Are any of Quo's new products catching your eye?

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid 24H, Stick Foundation and Cushion

$

0
In 1997, Lancome released the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation. Then, it guaranteed 14 hour hold. Twenty years later in 2017, the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation has been updated - a new frosted glass bottle, 40 shades and 24 hour wear.

In addition to the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid Foundation ($55 CAD), the Teint Idole family includes the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick Foundation ($53 CAD) and the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Cushion Foundation ($55 CAD). Each is a little different in terms of finish, shade range, longevity and SPF. In case you weren't aware, there's a serious foundation junkie over here *points at self*, so I was above and beyond excited to put all three to the test.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid in 260 W Bisque, Stick Foundation in 260 W Bisque and Cushion Foundation in 250 N Bisque Swatches

In terms of shade range there are 40 shades of the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid, 30 shades of the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick Foundation and 18 shades of the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Cushion Foundation. There's a slight inconsistency from the Ultra Wear Liquid to the Stick with 260W but it's not noticeable when blended into the skin. Without a doubt, there is something for everyone in at least one of the Teint Idole formulations.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid Foundation 24H in 260 W Bisque Before and After Swatch

Let's start with Lancome's classic Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid Foundation. Lancome says that this is a matte finish foundation with moderate to full coverage with SPF 15. The foundation is fragrance-free, oil-free and and transfer-free.

Believe it or not, the Lancome Teint Idole was the first high-end foundation that I tried in my teens.
I liked it then and I love it now. The texture is liquid but not watery (like the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD). It applies smoothly with a brush, fingertips or a sponge and doesn't crease or attach itself to drier areas. Coverage is medium yet very natural ("my skin but better") and can be built up in layers for fuller coverage. I don't feel it on my skin, no matter how much I cake it on. Above, I'm wearing about a pump and a half, one pump all over the face and the rest over hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. It's a natural matte finish and the most matte of the three Teint Idole options.

The only thing to note is that I did not wear it for 24 hours, nor would it have lasted on my oily skin for 24 hours without a setting powder. I wear this foundation without a setting powder and get about 8 hours of wear before my nose and forehead start looking greasy and the foundation bunches up around my glasses pads on my nose. At this point, the foundation is prone to transferring but with a mid-day touch-up any oiliness issues are easily alleviated.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick Foundation in 260 W Bisque Before and After Swatch

Next up, we have the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Stick Foundation. Lancome says that this one is a natural matte with moderate to full coverage and SPF 21. It can be used as foundation, concealer or contour. I appreciate that the packaging is very portable, as the frosted glass of the liquid isn't particularly travel-friendly.

Like the Liquid, the Stick Foundation is easy to apply with any tool and features buildable coverage. I've only ever tried one other stick foundation, which is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation. In comparison, the Lancome Teint Idole Stick Foundation is much lighter and less greasy-feeling. In terms of finish, I would not call it matte - it's a satin finish and again, very skin-like. At 6 hours, if I don't set with powder at the beginning of the day, my oils start to peek through.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Cushion Foundation in 250 N Bisque Before and After Swatch

Last and also my least favourite of the 3 Teint Idole Foundations is the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Cushion. It is said to have a natural matte finish with moderate to full coverage and SPF 50.

For me the finish is very dewy. The higher SPF also causes a white cast in photos (hence the colouring issues with the above photo), though thankfully it does not look as pale in person. The coverage is medium buildable to full.

My biggest issue with the Lancoeme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Cushion is the longevity, as well as the way it looks on my skin. After about 2 hours, the foundation starts to seep into my fine lines (for reference, I'm 22 and this foundation shows imperfections that I didn't even know I had!). Yes, I can set the foundation, but that defeats the purpose of a product that is meant to be "easy to use". For my oilier friends, I'd steer clear of the cushion but perhaps if you've got drier skin it might work better for you.

Two big thumbs up for the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid 24H and Stick Foundations. There's a reason why this product has stuck around for 20 years.

Have you ever tried the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation?

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Masks

It's "busy season" in the accounting world and I am very tired. My eyes are looking particularly zonked from starring at a computer screen for most of the day. The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Masks are one of those mid-week treats, a quick 10 minute ritual that left my eye area feeling renewed and refreshed.

Did you know that the skin of your eye area is 40% thinner than the rest of your face, making it more prone to fatigue, dehydration and fine lines? As such, I'm finding that if I treat my eye area nicely, I generally appear more well-rested.

The Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask is said to deliver 20x more of the original ANR's soothing, hydrating and repair ingredients. Star ingredients include Lady's Thistle and White Birch for soothing; Rice Bran Extract (popular in Korean Skincare) and the very common Hyaluronic Acid for hydration; and the same anti-pollution technology featured in the ANR Serum. I featured the ANR on the blog a couple years ago, and I still think that it's an excellent all-rounder serum option for hydration, radiance, brightening and smoothing of the skin.

The one-time-use packaging keeps the liquid and the pads in separate, sealed chambers. Before application, you break the seal and the liquid is soaks the pads. You're meant to leave the pads on for 10 minutes but I think that if you've got time, 20-30 minutes wouldn't hurt.

The eye masks don't absorb all of the lightweight serum, so with the leftover liquid, I smoothed the product all over my face. It was a similar but slightly colder experience compared to applying Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum all over the face.

The eye masks sat comfortably under my eyes. They're a thin fabric, not gel, and I had no issues with slipping while sitting upright. I've only tried one set, and therefore can't speak on any long term results (reduced signs of aging, etc.). However, the immediate increase in hydration and plumpness of my under eyes was clear. Energized-looking eyes = energized Stephanie, ready to take on another busy day.

Price and availability. 4 pack for $49, 1 for $14 at The Bay, Shoppers' Drug Mart, Murale, Nordstrom, Saks and esteelauder.ca

Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in 321B Precious Petals

Wet N Wild just dropped 2 new highlighters for Spring 2017 and the Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in 321B Precious Petals ($6.99 CAD) is the prettiest, most affordable highlighter that I know of.

The packaging matches the price, flimsy plastic with no mirror.

The Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighters are available in 2 shades - 321B Precious Petals (a warm gold) and 322B Crown of My Canopy (a shimmering light pink). The Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighter in 321B Precious Petals is EVERYTHING

Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in 321B Precious Petals Swatch

I've heard along the grape vine that Precious Petals is a great shade dupe for Becca x Jaclyn Hill's Champagne Pop. Unfortunately, I don't have Champagne Pop on-hand. If I compare it to some of my other golden highlighters, it's slightly warmer than MAC's Oh Darling and both warmer and less glittery looking than MAKE UP FOR EVER's Pro Light Fusion in 02 Gold. In texture, it's quite similar to MAC's Oh Darling - more hard than powdery or creamy and easily picked up with a brush.

It's a great cheek highlight but also doubles as a lovely eyeshadow or brow bone highlight, if you so please.

I'm not too miffed about using this one every day or "saving it up" because it's not limited edition and I can go back to Walmart and pick up another if I really I ever run out (though I don't think I've ever hit pan on a highlighter in my time wearing makeup).

On days that I'm wearing the Wet N Wild Highlighting Powder in 321B Precious Petals, I'm really feeling myself. I'll look in the mirror and tell myself - you glow girl. Because seriously, I do.

What's your most affordable highlighting product?

Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection | Spring 2017

A couple weeks ago, I reviewed the Limited Edition Mary Kay Nail Lacquers ($10 each) but a few other noteworthy bits and pieces in the Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection available as of this February.

Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection Glossy Lip Oil Swatches in Brilliant Violet, Magenta Ray and Sheer Pink

The Mary Kay Glossy Lip Oil ($19 CAD) is a sheer lipgloss formulated with grape seed, avocado and jojoba oils.  The texture and colour reminds me of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Oils - sheer colour, comfortable, non-sticky and super juicy looking on the lips. I'm happy with two of the three shades. Brilliant Violet is a light purple and Magenta Ray is a neutral pink. I'm not a fan of Sheer Pink, which is a bit to milky for my taste.

Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection Glossy Lip Oil in Sheer Pink Swatch

Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection Glossy Lip Oil in Brilliant Violet Swatch

Mary Kay Light, Reinvented Collection Glossy Lip Oil in Magenta Ray Swatch

Also part of the collection is two vivid and bright Eye Color Palettes ($26 CAD) - Glistening Horizon, a cool toned palette and Sunlight, a warm toned palette. While neither are particularly wearable, these are both so fun. The shadows are not tip top quality (the bright coloured shadows I've tried are from Kat Von D) but with the right primer and a little layering, the palettes are capable of creating some colourful and interesting looks.

All in all, Mary Kay's Light, Reinvented Collection is a beautifully colourful way to ring in the Spring season. Skip the eyeshadow palettes and check out the Nail Lacquers and Glossy Lip Oils if you're looking to try a few pieces from Mary Kay.

Eat Like a Pirate at The Captain's Boil!

About a year ago, a new food trend emerged in Toronto - boiled and bagged seafood restaurants. It wasn't until this year that I had the opportunity to test it out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but The Captain's Boil is the first of its kind in the GTA with additional locations all across Canada. Last week, Charles and I visited the Scarborough location (4505 Sheppard Avenue East - 15 minutes from my house) for a Friday night date. This wasn't my first time at the restaurant, but it was Charles's first.

Most of the food at The Captain's Boil is served family style, utensils optional - which can be difficult at times. Luckily, you're provided with everything you need - sharp, clean tools including scissors and seafood crackers, a roll of paper towel, and even gloves and plastic bibs.

The service. Is there such a thing as being too friendly? There were 4 or 5 different waiters that came and asked us how we were doing at several points during the meal. It wasn't like the restaurant was empty or anything. The attention was nice, albeit a tad awkward because most interactions were in the midst of some messy face stuffing. That being said, we were never without a full glass of water or paper towels to wipe our mouths.

Further, staff were friendly and well-informed in terms of the menu (like they've actually eaten at the restaurant before). Charles and I were curious as to the difference between the king crab vs. Dungeness crab vs. the crab legs and shrimp vs. crawfish. Our server responded quickly and clearly to our many questions, letting us know which options would suit our preferences best.

The ambiance. Well lit. The decor is modern, with a few touches of "the sea" - fish nets, shellfish motifs, etc. Seating was a combination of booths and tables. There was also a fire place, which kept things feeling cozy.

The menu. The menu is easy and straightforward to follow. If it's your first time at the Captain's Boil, then let a waiter know and they'll break it down for you. In a nutshell, there's the "eat with your hands" seafood in a bag + add-ons, then there's everything else.

Seafood options include Crawfish (seasonal price), Lobster (seasonal price), Dungeness Crab (seasonal price), King Crab ($36.95/lb), Snow Crab ($18.95/lb), Shrimps ($12.95/lb), Clams ($12.95/lb) and Mussels ($10.95/lb). These are all served in a bag with your choice of sauce - Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic or Captain's Boil (all three combined) - and level of heat - Non-Spicy, Mild, Medium and Fire.

Then, there's add-ons, which can be served with your seafood (in the sauce) or on the side with butter. These include corn, okra, potatoes, broccoli, sausages, etc.

"Everything else" includes stuff like french fries, sweet potato fries, chicken wings, fried rice, garlic bread, seafood platters etc.

The pricing. It's comparable to what you'd pay at another seafood restaurant, if not less for the amount of seafood you're getting. However, if you're comfortable with cooking seafood at home, it's probably not the best deal. You're looking at $15 to $30 per person (lunch or dinner), depending on which seafood and sides you order.

The food. We started with the Cajun Fried Rice because I had heard good things from a friend. It's not my Chinese grandmother's soy sauce egg, corn, green peas, shrimp and BBQ pork fried rice. Instead, it's rich, buttery, a touch spicy, and is topped with a hearty amount of baby shrimp and baby scallops. Charles found the rice to be a touch undercooked for his preferences, but I found it to be al dente and to my liking. We also found that the rice was especially good for mixing with leftover sauce, though adding too much sauce would leave the rice feeling a little heavy and greasy.

Next, we ordered the Dungeness crab and the shrimp with a potato and corn in the bag. With the Captain's Boil sauce, of course... because it's a classic and something that I've started to crave every time I think about seafood. There's something about the combination of spicy, garlic, salty and buttery that hits the spot for me. My guess is that the seafood gets shaken up in the bag, which helps to distribute the sauce evenly.

On another occasion, I had ordered french fries with my meal and the extra Captain's Boil sauce at the bottom of the bag was 390190238123 times better than ketchup.

All in all, great service and delicious food - but keep in mind that you've got your work cut out for you when you order the seafood in the bag!  It was an odd first experience for Charles, I'm sure he felt uncomfortable at first. But he said that though it was super messy, it was a fun experience to share together.

Have you been to The Captain's Boil yet?

Rimmel x Rita Ora My Grey Collection

After watching the awkward-in-an-almost-funny-way-but-also-a-colossal-waste-of-time first Fifty Shades of Grey movie, I didn't even consider the second one Fifty Shades Darker. But what is worth giving a chance is the corresponding makeup collection. It's by Rimmel in collaboration with one of my singer/songwriter favourites Rita Ora (also the new host of America's Next Top Model).

Anyways, it's a grey-themed collection. And alongside black and white, grey is one of my favourite colours.

Because it's Monday, let's start with my most recent manicure. I used the Rimmel x Rita Ora My Grey Collection 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 807 My Grey ($4.99 CAD). It's opaque in two coats, dries in 60 seconds and is a perfect shade of medium-depth grey.

The collection also includes the Rimmel Mascara Extra Super Lash in Black ($8.99 CAD), which is nothing noteworthy. It's slightly lengthening and doesn't smudge but isn't enough impact for my non-existent eyelashes.

The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder isn't new but it's been packaged in grey to fit in with the rest of the collection. It's available in #001, #003 and #005. My shade is #005 Silky Beige, which means that the shade range is extremely limited. The Stay Matte Powder is one of the first pressed powders I ever purchased. It's an excellent product from the drugstore - absorbs oils, soft to the touch, mattifying and pore-reducing.

Last but not least we have the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Rita's Red ($7.99 CAD), a hot orangey red in a medium opacity, shiny finish. It's not at all long-lasting on my lips but it's moisturizing, doesn't bleed or catch onto fine lines and makes my lips look plump and juicy.

Okay, so it's not the most exciting collection but they're all already-existing products are that pretty solid in my books. If anything, the grey nail polish is worth trying out.

NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter, Ombre Blush and Lip Lingerie

With Spring on the way, makeup is getting dewier, brighter and more playful. Today, I have three pieces from NYX to share with you - a little glow, a pop of colour and a unique lippie.

NYX Away We Glow Highlighter in State of Flux

Let's start with the glow. The NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter in State of Flux ($12 CAD) is a pearly lavender. It's a thin, fast-drying cream that is easy to sheer out or build up. The liquid leans more metallic, as opposed to glittery. On my arm, the product appears very similar to the CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops. I didn't expect to like the pearly lavender. The product is sheer enough that it isn't stark on my warmer complexion, which pearly highlighters tend to do on my skin. I didn't find this product to last particularly long - maybe 4-5 hours, however it looks fantastic on the skin and works wonderfully as a base for powder highlighter.

What is spring without some pops of pink? The NYX Ombre Blush in Sweet Spring ($13 CAD) is just that - the perfect pop of pink. The ombre is a combination of a warm coral pink and a slightly cooler-toned pink.  While I love the look of an ombre, I don't find that of the NYX Ombre Blush to be that visually stunning. That being said, the blush is ultra pigmented and easy to blend.

While the grey-mauve hue of the NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment ($9 CAD) doesn't scream Spring, the season is a time to spring into fresh, new colours. In some lights it looks more pink and in others it's more purply-grey. The Lip Lingerie isn't my all time favourite lip formulation (it's not drying, though it isn't super long wearing and it has some residual tackiness to it), but it does come in a number of trendy yet wearable neutral shades for the entire spectrum of skin tones.

Philosophy Amazing Grace and Pure Grace Dry Shampoos

Lovers of Philosophy's Amazing Grace and Pure Grace Fragrances, rejoice! Both are now available in the form of dry shampoo. This is a serious launch for Philosophy, as the dry shampoos are its first ever haircare product! The Philosophy Dry Shampoos ($35 CAD, at Sephora and Philosophy.com) are also a very exciting launch for me because I am often too busy (and too lazy) to wash my hair. Dry shampoo is an absolute staple in my product wardrobe.

Philosophy's Amazing Grace is a floral fragrance, with top notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit and bergamot; middle notes of freesia, jasmine and rose; and a base note of musk. Philosophy's Pure Grace is also a floral fragrance, with notes of bergamot, lavender, jasmine and water lily and a base note of musk. For me, the difference is quite straight forward. While both are floral fragrances, Pure Grace is a cleaner scent, slightly soapy, a lot like fresh laundry, while Amazing Grace is still fresh but sweeter than Pure Grace. Both scents are well-known for being very clean.

In the dry shampoos, the clean accent of both scents is very prominent. In fact, the scent of both dry shampoos could not be described as "lightweight"... the fragrance itself is prominent. If my hair is every having an off (read: sweaty/smelly) day, then spraying Amazing Grace or Pure Grace allows me to go outside without being paranoid about being stared at because I'm smelly. As a hair fragrance, it works.

As a dry shampoo, it's effective as well. The Philosophy Dry Shampoo absorbs any and all oiliness in my hair and on second day hair, it can hold onto my hair and keep it looking fresh for up to the end of the third day.

I've read a few reviews from magazines and other bloggers saying that the dry shampoo leaves no white cast. They must not have black hair because it 100% leaves a white cast in my hair. Luckily, a brush and some rapid tszuj-ing will have the white cast gone in no time.

All in all, I'm into it. It's a great dry shampoo (if you can deal with the white cast) and the Pure Grace and Amazing Grace fragrances separate it from other dry shampoos.

Will you be picking up the Philosophy Pure Grace and Amazing Grace Dry Shampoos?

Quo Cosmetics Spring 2017 Collection

Not even half way through March and Spring beauty collections are already in full force. The Quo Spring 2017 Collection is now available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart. The collection features the usual suspects - a brush set, two face palettes, 2 eye palettes, 1 brow palette and 3 matte lip crayons.

The packaging is groovy. The plastic, quartz/turquoise stone casing is interesting, eye catching and fun. The colours have got me itching for the warmer weather... like an imaginary trip to Las Vegas, Nevada and the Grand Canyon.

The Quo Face Palettes in Heat It Up and Down to Earth ($20 CAD) each contain 2 highlighters, 2 blushes and 2 bronzers. Like the names suggest, Heat It Up contains warmer tones, while  the colours in Down to Earth are more neutral. The powders are not extraordinary, buildable pigmentation, a touch powdery but easy to blend onto the skin. Out of the two, I prefer Down to Earth because the colouring of the bronzer in Heat It Up is way to warm for any human being.

Quo Cosmetics Face Palette in Heat It Up Swatches

Quo Cosmetics Face Palette in Down to Earth Swatches

The Quo Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettesin No Pressure and Rock it! ($18 CAD) are a step up from Quo's typical seasonal collection eyeshadow palettes. They're usually dry and chalky. This time around, the eyeshadows are smooth, with less fallout. They're still powdery and not the most pigmented, so there's still something missing here for me. No Pressure contains shimmery shades and Rock It! contains 4 matte neutrals. I wish Quo had put 2 shimmers and 2 mattes in each palette, that way each palette would stand alone without the need for dipping into another palette to complete an eyeshadow look.

Quo Cosmetics Eye Shadow Palette in Rock It! Swatches

Quo Cosmetics Eye Shadow Palette in No Pressure Swatches

It's one of the most mundane items in the collections but the Quo Brow Palettes ($12 CAD) are always a favourite of mine. The split powder, highlight, eyebrow cream and double-sided applicator all contained in a palm-sized case just get me. I wish the Quo Eyeshadows were as smooth and potent in colour as the brow palettes!

 Quo Cosmetics Brow Palette Swatches

Last, we have the Quo Matte Lip Crayons in Pretty in Pink and Simply Red ($12 CAD). Pretty in Pink is a blue-toned pink. It isn't particularly flattering on my skin colouring and makes my teeth look yellow. Simply Red, on the other hand, is a neutral red and I can see it suiting the whole spectrum of skin tones.  The rounded crayon format makes precise application difficult, especially with such bold and bright colours. The matte formulation is comfortable and long-lasting (around 5 hours, without lip liner).

All in all, I'm in love with the packaging but the products generally didn't meet my expectations. They're not terrible but not amazing for the price. If anything, go for the brow palette!

UNBOXING: Foodie Pages The Tasting Box

$

Gifts of food are always accepted here. Zubie was kind enough to gift me the Foodie Pages X Toronto Life Tasting Box during the holiday months. The Tasting Box is a monthly non-subscription box filled with 5-7 gourmet food items. This particular box was curated by the food editors of Toronto Life Magazine.

It's been quite a while since the holidays but I've finally gotten the chance to try everything in the box.

Neal Brothers Foods Montreal Steak Spice Chips
I haven't been eating beef since Jan 2016 BUT these Montreal Steak Spice Chips simply taste like steak spice, there's no actual steak in it. They're thick, crispy and kettle cut... just how I like them. The peppery nature of the Montreal Steak Spice isn't my favourite but I'm still going to eat it.

All Mine Caramel Cayenne Popcorn
The first thing to go. Think Kernels Double Hit (extreme layers of caramel) with a shot of heat at the end from the cayenne. That's the All Mine Caramel Cayenne Popcorn.

Ohh Producers Premium Spiced Apple Cocoa Mix
Like hot chocolate mixed with apple cider. It's yummy but requires a milky base (it doesn't have to be milk, if you're lactose free - it could be mixed with coconut or almond milk).

Turmeric Teas Winter - Ginger Tea with Turmeric
A very warming tea. The ginger is quite strong, so not something I can enjoy 24/7 but nice in the mornings for a wake-me-up and also when I feel a cold or sore throat coming.

The Spread Spicy Sesame Spread
It's not that spicy but it does taste a lot like sesame. I've been enjoying the Spicy Sesame Spread on crackers and on toast with eggs. I feel like it pairs well with richer/fatty flavours as the salt/spicy cuts the fat.

Shoko Chocolates and Confections
I'm no chocolate connoisseur but this milk chocolate bar was deliciously smooth. I had about 2 squares and Charles (the bf) stole the rest.

Without a doubt this was an amazing gift and I think I'll be gifting Foodie Pages boxes in the future as well! My favourites from the box were the chocolate, the tea and the popcorn!

NOT SHAMPOO

aka hair favourites of the moment. There have been a number of exciting launches in shampoo/conditioner science from the likes of brands like Live Clean, GLISS, Pantene, Garnier, and John Frieda and Redken. At the moment, I'm shampoo-ed out and having a hard time determining the difference between Shampoo A and Shampoo B, Conditioner X and Conditioner Y. Lately, what has been standing out to me is everything in between.

THE SERUM - Pai-Shau BiPhasic Infusion
New-to-me brand Pai Shau (meaning "Passion for Life") is Toronto-born haircare company that incorporates the anti-aging benefits of tea into their hair products. Their secret ingredient is a "Signature Tea Complex" that features African Red Bush, White, Black, Pu-erh and Japanese Matcha Green Teas. Specifically, the Pai-Shau BiPhasic Infusion is a hair oil that does it all - softens hair, adds moisture, protects from thermal and environmental damage, tames fly-aways, and moisturizes. For an oil, it's very lightweight and can be used on wet or (sparingly) on dry hair without causing oiliness or product buildup.

Price & Availability: $45 CAD at Trade Secrets (March 31st) and Pai-Shau.com

THE TEXTURE & VOLUME - Redken Windblown 05
Other hairsprays are not my thing. They make my hair feel crunchy, look stiff and smell weird. The Redken Windblown 05 is different. Think effortlessly windblown, without the need to bear the -20°C windchill. The brand describes it as "mild control" which is pretty spot on. It gives an airy look to the hair with a soft-matte finish, while the hold is strong (9 to 5) without feeling sticky. The end result is a lightweight "I-woke-up-like-this" hairstyle - lots of movement and natural volume.

Price & Availability:
~$22 CAD at salons, Ulta and LookFantastic

THE DRY SHAMPOO & FRAGRANCE - The Philosophy Amazing Grace Dry Shampoo
I am a lazy girl... so much so that I could go 4-5 days without washing.  The Philosophy Amazing Grace Dry Shampoo keeps my hair in check, preventing it from getting oily (or stinky). Bonus - it smells like the Philosophy Amazing Grace Fragrance = bergamot, lavender, jasmine, water lily and base note of musk.

Price & Availability: $35 CAD at Sephora and Philosophy.com

HAUL: Tom Ford and LORAC on Glambot

$
0
0
Glambot is an online re-seller of new and lightly used rare, limited edition, and discontinued makeup items. The site claims to alleviate the difficulties of swap-lifting, counterfeits, and unusable/damaged items.

I am by no means a "makeup collector". I do love makeup but I'm not in search of rare or discontinued makeup. The website is a little overwhelming. There are a lot of brands, the brands highly sought-after ones...and brands that are not available in Canada. It's pretty straightforward to navigate but I don't love the fact that "sold out" items are still listed.

There were quite a few brands that were on the site and also on my radar - Artis, Ben Nye, By Terry, Chanel, Huda Beauty, Kjaer Weis, Kylie Cosmetics, IT Cosmetics, Melt Cosmetics, Natasha Denona, Wayne Goss, Zoeva, Tom Ford, Lorac, etc. Keep in mind that "cult" or "popular" products will likely be sold out. Almost all the good stuff from from Huda Beauty, Artis, Natasha Denona, Wayne Goss, IT Cosmetics and Wayne Goss was not available. That being said, using Glambot requires patience and persistence, as the site is updated daily.

Pricing varies, depending on the condition of the product and how sought after it might be. I found that anything like-new or in good condition was only the tiniest bit discounted from the full price. There are sales and deeply discounted items but none of those truly interested me.

So what did I pick up? The Tom Ford Lipstick in Richard ($35 USD new, $31.50 USD on Glambot) and the Lorac Pro to Go Eyeshadow and Face Palette ($38 USD new, $34.20 USD on Glambot). Both were listed as being in "Good" condition with 80% fill.

The products took about a week to ship to Canada. I did not pay any duties. Both items were double bagged in a bubble envelope and also individually packaged in bubble wrap. The products were as-listed. The lettering on the LORAC Pro to Go Palette was slightly faded, with the eyeshadows looking ever-so-slightly used. The Tom Ford Lipstick in Richard seemed like it had only been used once or twice.

All in all, I'm satisfied with my Glambot order. I feel like it'd be a great option for (1) those who are looking for specific discontinued or limited edition makeup (2) those who want to save money and don't mind lightly used products or (3) someone who is looking to downsize their collection and also wants to make a few bucks.
