After watching the awkward-in-an-almost-funny-way-but-also-a-colossal-waste-of-time first Fifty Shades of Grey movie, I didn't even consider the second one Fifty Shades Darker. But what is worth giving a chance is the corresponding makeup collection. It's by Rimmel in collaboration with one of my singer/songwriter favourites Rita Ora (also the new host of America's Next Top Model).
Anyways, it's a grey-themed collection. And alongside black and white, grey is one of my favourite colours.
Because it's Monday, let's start with my most recent manicure. I used the Rimmel x Rita Ora My Grey Collection 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 807 My Grey ($4.99 CAD). It's opaque in two coats, dries in 60 seconds and is a perfect shade of medium-depth grey.
The collection also includes the Rimmel Mascara Extra Super Lash in Black ($8.99 CAD), which is nothing noteworthy. It's slightly lengthening and doesn't smudge but isn't enough impact for my non-existent eyelashes.
The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder isn't new but it's been packaged in grey to fit in with the rest of the collection. It's available in #001, #003 and #005. My shade is #005 Silky Beige, which means that the shade range is extremely limited. The Stay Matte Powder is one of the first pressed powders I ever purchased. It's an excellent product from the drugstore - absorbs oils, soft to the touch, mattifying and pore-reducing.
Last but not least we have the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Rita's Red ($7.99 CAD), a hot orangey red in a medium opacity, shiny finish. It's not at all long-lasting on my lips but it's moisturizing, doesn't bleed or catch onto fine lines and makes my lips look plump and juicy.
Okay, so it's not the most exciting collection but they're all already-existing products are that pretty solid in my books. If anything, the grey nail polish is worth trying out.
