Quo Cosmetics, Shoppers Drug Mart's in-house beauty brand just launched 9 new products for 2017. I've put them all to the test, so let's dive right in!

Quo Cosmetics Beauty Launches 2017

Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette and Matte Revolution Foundation

Quo Cosmetics Matte Revolution Foundation in Shade 02 Before and After

The Quo Cosmetics Matte Revolution Foundation($24 CAD) is a full coverage foundation + concealer. It's a misnomer because the finish isn't entirely matte. It's more of a satin (Quo describes it as a "luminous matte" but tbh that's an oxymoron). Coverage is indeed very high - comparable to the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation. There are 5 shades available. I tried #02 and because it's a tad too yellow and too light for my skin, the high coverage appears slightly mask-like on my face. Staying power is good but not great. On application, the my face looks very flawless and fresh. The foundation gets a little oily around my nose after 4 hours and transfers around my glasses very easily. Overall, it's okay but not something that I would pick up again.

Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette Swatches

Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette Before and After

The Quo Cosmetics Concealer Palette ($19 CAD) features medium coverage and 4 shades. It's lightweight enough that I can get away with wearing the concealer in the undereye area and over blemishes. It's a tad sticky so needs to be set. There's only one palette and the shades are most suitable for those with neutral to warm, light to medium complexions.

Quo Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray and Nourish & Prime Hydrating Primer

The Quo Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray ($19 CAD) is a fine mist that leaves a matte (but not flat) finish. I'm not too picky about setting sprays and I find that this one works for me, keeping makeup in place for 10+ hours if worn with a long-wearing foundation.

The Quo Cosmetics Nourish & Prime Hydrating Primer ($24 CAD) is slightly hydrating, like a light moisturizer. The product absorbs instantly and my skin feels softer after applying, however this primer doesn't do anything for the longevity of my makeup.

Quo Cosmetics Matte Bronzer in Light Tan and Medium Tan, Quo Bronzer Duo in South Beach and Golden Glow, Radial Blur Translucent Powder

Quo Cosmetics Blush Duo in Just Blush

I have so lovingly named the Quo Blush Duo ($16 CAD) as "the nipple blush". The setup is very reminiscent of Charlotte Tilbury's Swish and Pop blushers. The blush is a little hard (read: the nipple blush is a little hard... hehehe) and requires a few heavy-handed swirls for the product to transfer onto the brush. The colour is a sheer neutral pink and is very difficult to get wrong. If you like subtle blushers, this one is for you.

The Quo Cosmetics Matte Bronzers ($19 CAD) are available in two shades - Light Tan and Medium Tan. They are very smooth, easy to blend and as promised, are completely matte. Oddly, Light Tan is warmer than Medium Tan but both have about the same depth of colour. For my complexion, Medium Tan is the ideal neutral crease colour and contour shade.

The Quo Cosmetics Bronzer Duos ($19 CAD) also feature matte bronzers with the addition of a slightly shimmery centre shade. Both South Beach (bronzer/pink) and Golden Glow (bronzer/yellow-gold) are both quite warm and great for actual bronzing rather than contouring.

The Quo Cosmetics Radical Blur Translucent Powder ($18 CAD) was a no-no for me. It is mattifying and minimizes pores but does not control oil and adds a slight white cast to the skin.

Quo Cosmetics Lip Velour Swatches in Bombshell and Vixen

Quo Cosmetics Lip Velour in Vixen Swatch

The Quo Cosmetics Lip Velours ($14 CAD) are a liquid lipstick with a brush applicator available in 6 shades. Bombshell is a light pink (not for me) and Vixen is a vampy berry pink. I found Bombshell to apply evenly but Vixen was slightly patchy and required 2 coats for application. The Quo Lip Velours are comfortable but not particularly long wearing on my lips.

All in all, new Quo products are always exciting, especially when they're fairly affordable and very accessible (there's a Shoppers Drug Mart at just about every major intersection in Scarborough and downtown Toronto). My top picks are the bronzers and the makeup setting spray.

Are any of Quo's new products catching your eye?
