Sunscreen is a boring yet necessary daily ritual; but mix it with a little bit of setting spray and a cooling mist, and it's a whole new product. That new, fantastic product is the RE:CIPE Crystal Sun Spray SPF 50+ PA+++($26.99 CAD). Getting it all done in the spritz of a can.

But oh how I wish it were that easy.

The Good.
  • The mist is ultra fine and unlike any other mister that I've experienced.
  • There's no white cast, despite having SPF 50 PA+++.
  • It keeps my makeup together all day long.
  • It's got a high SPF and I haven't experienced any sunburn while using it.
  • The can is light and the product is easy to reapply.
  • The RE:CIPE Crystal Sun Spray can be applied to wet or dry skin.
  • The mist feels refreshing and cooling on application, much like a mineral water or Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

The Bad.
  • The scent smells like some sort of toxic gas. Definitely a product you need to hold your breath before spritzing on the face. Also not ideal for those that are sensitive to scents.
  • It keeps makeup in check, but it's not a matte or oil controlling setting spray so I feel like it gives quite the dewy glow that's makes my oily skin look oilier.
  • It never really dries down. Hence why I mention the dewy/oily glow.

On balance, the RE:CIPE Crystal Sun Spray SPF 50 PA+++ is an effective misting sunscreen. It's not for me, but it might be for you. I would recommend this product if (1) you have normal or dry skin and like the very Korean dewy/wet skin look and (2) are not sensitive to strong scents.
