What Should Have Been In My Camping Makeup Bag?

In an ideal world, these are the beauty things that I should have brought with me on a recent camping trip. In actuality, I couldn't stuff all my stuff into my makeup bag and had to bring two. And the cherry on top was that I didn't even use half.

SKINCARE & BODYCARE

TheLines of Elan You Don't Shea* is an all-purpose moisturizing balm in a compact tin. I like that it contains so few ingredients that I can use it anywhere on my body - lips, elbows, face, legs, you name it!

You never know when a breakout's gonna strike, so the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Gel* was good for those annoying little pimples. Probably unnecessary if you're not bothered by them but the bottle is so mini, so why not.

I don't even think I went overboard on the suncare. I care about protecting my skin from cancer, burning, and hyperpigmentation. The Sun Bum SPF 30 Original Spray* Sunscreen for general use, the Garnier Ombrelle Sport Endurance Sunscreen* for water sports like canoeing and swimming and the RE:CIPE Crystal Sun Spray SPF 50* to set face makeup and protect the face. I ended up mostly using the Garnier Ombrelle Sport Endurance Sunscreen* (for face and body) because as a water-based formulation, it was the most lightweight-feeling and waterproof.

MAKEUP

In the wilderness, I really couldn't be bothered to put on too much makeup but it's always nice to spruce yourself up after 3 days of not washing your hair. My four product face consists of brows (Essence Make Me Brow), liner (Marc Jacobs Fineliner in Blacquer*), concealer (Kat Von D Lock-It Creme Concealer*) and lips. Two lip options because I'm fancy like that - the Nudestix Gel Lip + Cheek Balm in Pulsefor a neutral option and the Essence BB Beauty Balm Lip Gloss* for a pop of pink.

THE OTHER BITS

Then we've got the boring bits. A toothbrush, a mini tube of toothpaste I picked up from my dentist, the Tangle Teezer* (which I actually forgot to bring) and a Sephora Black Magic Makeup Remover Cloth to wash my face and remove makeup whenever I decided to wear it.

Call me crazy, but I could have probably done with one moisturizer, one sunscreen, a brush, toothbrush and toothpaste. But what's life without a little makeup fun?

How many beauty bits do you bring when you go camping (if any)?
