OPI Washington DC x Kerry Washington

My dreams have come true. OPI just released their 15-colour Fall/Winter collection, inspired by Emmy and Globe nominated actress Kerry Washington (and the hit show Scandal). 

If you haven't watched the show, let me paraphrase a Wikipedia blurb for you. Set in Washington DC, Scandal is a Shonda Rhimes (known for Grey's Anatomy and How To Get Away with Murder) political drama centred around the life of Olivia Pope (played by none other than Kerry Washington) and her crisis management firm. *Spoiler alert* She's having an affair with the President. It's so juicy. There's also a whole lot of subtle nudges of social commentary and the show reflects quite a few real world issues (#BlackLivesMatter, white privilege, a character that is eerily similar to Donald Trump, etc.). 

Both on the show and the red carpet, Kerry Washington has a chic, sophisticated and unique sense of style. And to top it all off, she's an independent, successful woman - an activist fighting against violence against women and girls, a brand ambassador for Movado, and a member of the President's Arts and Humanities Committee of the USA. 

Anyways, in typical OPI fashion, there collection includes a crazy good colour selection and witty names. There's a nude and a yellow but the majority of the OPI Washington DC collection is deep, dark cream coloured polishes, which I was a bit overwhelmed by at first. Which brings me back to the fact that this is a FALL/WINTER collection, which makes sense if you're looking to expand your dark, vampy polish stash.

All polishes are opaque in 2 coats with the exception of Never a Dulles Moment, which requires three.

Despite not being a Fall nail polish gal, I think I like the OPI Washington DC collection almost as much as I love the show Scandal. Favourites are Inside the ISABELLetway, Freedom of Peach, Squeaker of the House and Yank My Doodle.
