I'm hesitant to try cult favourite, luxury skincare because everyone's skin is inherently different. But I guess when someone with a British accent on your computer screen like Caroline Hirons (skincare queen), Ruth Crilly (A Model Recommends) or Zoella tells you to try something... it might be a good idea.
The Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm ($52.44 USD on FeelUnique - get 10% off $40 with the code FUNSIZE10) is one of those products.
At a glance, it's similar to the Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm, but the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift & Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm is a little more multi-purpose. Not only is it an effective makeup remover and cleanser, it also is meant to minimize pores and calm sensitive skin, in addition to being used as a rescue balm (on elbows, knees and lips) and a soothing mask when worn for 10+ minutes.
It's housed in a very large, muted gold plastic tub. Not at all travel friendly but looks pretty on my bathroom counter. It also comes with a muslin cloth with an abrasive side and a micro fibre side for exfoliating and perfecting.
I'd describe the texture of the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm as luxe. It's thick, creamy and a little heavy and almost feels like I'm smothering a thin layer of buttery polenta (smelling subtly of flowers) on my face...until the moment it begins to melt slightly from the warmth of my fingertips, at which point it becomes an oil. The product doesn't bother my eyes or break me out and dissolves makeup very effectively.
After rinsing off the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm, my face feels soft and supple. If you've got dry skin you don't need to double cleanse but I find my own oily skin feeling a little greasy in the morning if I don't.
While there are many great, cost effective cleansing balms on the market and I don't think that the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift & Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm is a necessity, it sure is a treat to use. So if happen to have a few extra pennies or two lying around, go for it and you won't be disappointed.
