As far as I know, the Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polishes ($5.99 each) are the least expensive "no cure" nail polishes on the market. What makes them special is that only 1 product is needed (hence the name 1 Step) - no top coat or base coat necessary. The 1 Step Wonder Gel is available in 18 shades. I tried 4 of them!
The brush of the polish is flat, thick and rounded which makes it easy as pie to get the polish close to the cuticles without flooding them.
The 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish is housed in a black bottle, to keep out the light. This means that light is used to cure the polish. Wet N Wild says the technology to harden the polish is similar to technology in dental veneers. Wet N Wild claims that the polishes lasts up to 2 weeks.
The Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel isn't too thick or too thin and wrap around the nails nicely while self-levelling. All four colours required 2 layers for opacity. The polish dried in typical drying time (10-15 mins per coat) and was shiny even without a top coat.
Everything seemed well and good until...the polish did not last longer than 3 days on my nails. It didn't chip but I was trying to open a plastic package and the plastic scratched some of the polish off, which meant the polish doesn't seem like it had hardened enough to last over 2 weeks on my nails.
Ignoring the staying power, the line has quite a few pretty colours. Here are the ones I tried:
Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish in 722B Missy in Pink
722B Missy in Pink is a light blue-pink.Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish in 726A Pardon My Peach
726A Pardon My Peach is an orangey peach.Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish in 727A Bye Feluschia
727A Bye Feluschia is an iridescent purple fuchsia.Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish in 730A Cyantific Method
730A Cyantific Method is a bright mid-toned blue.Overall, the price is nice but the formula is just OK. It lasts a decent amount of time for a regular nail polish but it doesn't really compare to polishes like the Revlon Gel Envy or the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel.
