The OPI Infinite Shine Collection is one of those no lamp, no light, easy to remove gel nail polishes that is meant to last for 10 days straight... with presumably infinite shine. Including the 8 colours from the spring collection, there are 70 colours in total.
The OPI Infinite Shine gel-lacquers, primer and gloss retail for $14.95 CAD each.
Unlike the Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel (which I did not particularly enjoy) , the OPI Infinite Shine Nail Polishes require 3 steps: Step 1 is the OPI Infinite Shine Primer, which is a base coat that is meant to prevent staining and grip onto colour; Step 2 is colour; and Step 3 is the OPI Shine Gloss, a gel polymer top coat that cures in natural light.
I'm a bit lazy for three whole steps of application and drying, though the process is than the colour + top coat process that I've been spoiled with by the likes of Revlon and Sally Hansen.
I applied all three steps, as instructed and the OPI Infinite Shine system lasted all of 5 days before chipping. That's decent for a regular old polish but half the time claimed. Needless to say, I was a little unimpressed. Other than the wear time, the polish was shiny until I took it off, I didn't experience any staining, and my standard nail polish remover was sufficient at taking it off.
Regardless of my slight disappointment, here are the colours!
Sunrise to Sunset // cream light orange, similar to OPI New Orleans Cat Fishin for a Compliment
Half Past Nude // cream light nude blush
Reach for the Sky // cream cool, airy light blue, similar to Mary Kay Sweet Lilac
Olive in Green // cream deep olive evergreen
It's Pink PM // cream pastel off-white pink, similar to Mary Kay Pink Magnolia
In Familiar Terra-Tory // cream rich terracotta coral
Don't Provoke the Plum // cream warm purple
Rose Against Time // cream bright blue-based medium/light pink
Overall, the formula didn't quite deliver on the 10-day claim. However, I think the OPI Infinite Shine Spring 2016 Collection has some very pretty shades (In Familiar Terra-tory and Half Past Nude are my faves!).
